The Hempfield Area Spartans Boys Lacrosse put on a strong performance, led by sophomore Jake Phillips. Phillips netted six goals, Junior Lucas Yaniro had a goal, while Sophomore Landon Flock helped with a goal and two assists. Senior Captains Austin Hopkins (one assist, one ground ball, three caused turnovers), Josh Winkowski (one assist, four ground balls), and Colton Baker (three ground balls, one caused turnover) also had strong showings. The defense was solid all day for the Spartans causing 15 turnovers, 3 by Rocco Chicklo, and 8 saves from Sophomore Goalie, Jackson Martin. Spartans travel to Latrobe on Tuesday.
